This is the first sign of the 4th of July holiday here in NW Kansas. . . . . Fireworks stand sponsored by the fire department.
Another sure sign is the arrival of harvest crews and we have a few here ready to go.
When I was a kid and we had the pizza joint in town, it was always fun during harvest because the crews would come in late in the evening and get beer and pizzas. Course as a teenage girl, I was always mesmerized by the good looking lads that were working for the summer on the crews. I don't seem to notice that anymore but then I also don't work in a pizza joint where the crews might come and get a bite to eat at night; not to mention I am no longer a teenage girl who is mesmerized by good looking young men!
